A mobile-first app designed to streamline book discovery, catering to individuals who perceive themselves as too busy to read, saving them valuable time.

“Individuals with hectic schedules often lack the time for reading or exploring new books.”

Problem Space

Context

A mobile-first app addresses the time constraints of busy individuals who feel they don't have the time to read. Unlike existing book discovery resources, this app streamlines the process, making book discovery faster and more convenient for readers.

Users

Individuals who sense they're too occupied for reading, potentially with some prior book-reading experience.

Constraint

Presuming users are beginner or novice book readers, emphasizing that book discovery should be as user-friendly as possible for individuals at any level of reading experience.

Competitors

Limited availability of book discovery apps, especially ones tailored for physical book reading rather than e-books. Existing book recommendation apps often lack features such as previews, have a limited user base, and provide insufficient book searching options.

User Flow

  1. Users aim to discover a book to read.

  2. They can either visit a physical bookstore or explore online/mobile resources.

  3. Limited online resources make it challenging to determine the suitability of a book. Existing book apps lack previews, and web searches yield overly broad selections.

  4. The time constraints of visiting offline bookstores lead users to forego reading altogether.

Research Summary

  1. Challenges persist in book discovery for individuals with limited time

  2. Particularly in finding the right book without the option of visiting offline bookstores.

Brainstorming

2. Secondary effort dedicated to the mobile website development.
